I am helping someone research his Banks family. I have a Bridget Banks born approximately 1828. Her parents are Patrick Banks and Margaret. Some people think Margaret's last name was Golden,but I have not been able to confirm that. On Margaret Banks headstone it reads native of co. Leitrim. Patrick born approximately 1805 and Margaret approximately 1804. If anyone knows of this family, I would love to learn about the family. Thank you in advance for any help.

Finding RC church records back to the 1820s in Co. Leitrim is difficult. Only four of the twenty-two RC parishes have baptismal records back to 1828 or earlier. I did search on the subscription site Roots Ireland and the earliest Bridget Banks baptismal record was in 1842. I also did not find any baptismal records for possible siblings to Bridget.
The 1857 Griffiths Valuation records showed 11 Banks records. Most of the records were in Drumlease civil parish but the only Patrick Banks records was in Killarga civil parish.

Thank you, Roger, once again. I will check that parish. The family had another child, James G b. 1829. Then before 1835 travel to Canada, have a child there before settling in upstate New York. So far I can't confirm Bridget's mother's surname.
