Bridget Hopkins was born to Thomas, a butcher and Biddy, Bridget Moore in Killcudden, Dunmore Galway about 1833. Her parents had both died so she came to Australia aboard Digby as part of the Irish Famine Orpahn scheme in 1849. She married William Carroll in Bathurst in 1850, had 4 children and they ran pubs in Bathurst. She died in Bourke in 1915. Any information on Bridget's Irish family would be appreciated. I can’t find her birth or records of her parents.

    Welcome to Ireland Reachuing Out!

The RC baptismal and marriage records for Dunmore parish start in March 1833 and when I searched the subscription site Roots Ireland, I did not find a record for Bridget. Likely she was born and baptized right before March 1833.

You may want to add Bridget's emigration story to our XO Chronicles site and possibly someone will see a connection. https://irelandxo.com/ireland-xo/history-and-genealogy/ancestor-database
