My 4x grandmother Bridget was born in 1834 in Killarney. She made her way to the States and settled in Richmond, Indiana. Her parents were Richard Brien and Mary Mahoney. Her siblings were:

Julia b. 1826

Nicholas b. 1828

Edmund b. 1831

Mary b. 1836

and Richard b. 1840

I was wondering if anybody knows about this family of just the history of where they lived during this time.  I was also having issues tracing her parents linage. Or if anybody could help me trace her siblings. Her sister Mary is the only one I was able to find any information on.

    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

I assume you searched the free site www.irishgenealogy.ie which has the church records for Co. Kerry parishes.

I located the marriage record for Richard and Mary and it appears they lived in the town of Killarney. Also located an 1800 Richard Brien baptismal record in Killarney.

As far as tracking the other children, I would look at www.irishgenealogy.ie for marriage records for possible clues.

  • I saw Richard's baptism record and Richard's and Mary's marriage record before, but never the less, thank you. I am stuck on his parents and their linage. Then with Mary Mahoney I cannot find the one because there are so many in Kerry in a 5 year period.
