Does anyone know if I can find local histories/books about Bunnahinly at the Athlone Library or at the National Library? My grandmother, Ellen Henson (1883-1964) was born in Bunnahinly. She and her 13 siblings were baptized at St. Mary's in Athlone. Our great-grandfather was Michael Henson of Bunnahinly. He married Margaret Shine (1855-1937), of Bunnacunna (Cloonown) at St. Peter's, her home parish. We've found birth/death/marriage records for some of the Hensons online, but were wondering if there any books about the area. We've read Frank Hempstead "Life in the Floodplain of the River Shannon" which discusses the neighboring townland of Clonbonny. My sister and I will be visiting from the US the last week of August and the first week of September.
Kind regards,

Kathy:
Below is a link to the Athlone library web site and their e-mail address. I would contact them to see what histories/books are in their catalog.
