Hi, I've just joined here and am visiting Dublin next month. I would like to know if there are burial records for St Bride's, Dublin. My ancestor, William Clindenin, was married there in 1794 and was buried in 1797 - presumably (though I don't know) in the same parish. His son, Samuel Alexander Clindenin, was born in St Peter Street, Dublin, in 1796 and became a respected surgeon in Baggott Street, Dublin. Any information at all would be very welcome.

Cheers,

Ian

    Hi Ian,

Thank you very much for your message.

I am very sorry for the delay in responding to your query and I am sorry that we missed your visit. I hope that you had a lovely time. I just wonder if you found the burial records that you were looking for while you were over here?

As the Church in St. Bride?s is a Church of Ireland I assume the family followed this religion? Most surviving Church of Ireland records are still held by the local clergy, although some are in the National Archives of Ireland and others are in the Representative Church Body Library in Dublin. Here are their websites: http://www.nationalarchives.ie/ and http://ireland.anglican.org/about/42

Lists of these surviving registers can also be found at the National Library of Ireland.

    Kind regards,
