Greetings,

I am planning to visit my great-grandfather's Donegal homeland next year and would appreciate travel suggestions and thoughts about connecting with Irish relatives.  Some were still living in Teelin (Teileann) when my grandfather visited there in the 1960's.

John Haughey Byrne (1864-1945) was born in Teelin to James Byrne (1831-1914) and Hannah Haughey (b. 1840).  John left for the United States in about 1890.

Irish civil records show John's brother James Byrne (b. 1872) married Mary Haughey (b. 1884) in 1909 with their residence listed as Ballymore.  The 1911 census shows them living in Shanbally townland with their daughter Nora (b. 1910).  They had at least four more children: Bridget Agnes (b. 1912), Mary (b. 1913), James Patrick (b. 1915) and Annie (b. 1917).

Thank you very much for any information and assistance.
