I'm new to this site. I'm from Illinois in the United States and researching my Great Grandparents that both came from Strokestown area. John Caslin was my great grandfather. Born 15 Oct. 1835 supposedly from Strokestown. Alternately it could be Lathrem. My great grandmother was Ann (or Mary Ann) Melleny also from Strokestown or Lathrem. She was born10 Sept 1837. Ann Melleny's parents were James Melleny (born 03 March 1813) and Bridget Winters (born 25 Dec 1813). Both born in Strokestown area. James and Bridget were married in Co. Roscommon on 06 June 1833. Any help or suggestions on finding records or infor on any of these would be appreciated. My email is mwcaslin@msn.com

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
No having much luck finding your ancestors on the subscription site Roots Ireland. The RC records for Strokestown parish in Co. Roscommon start in 1830 and here is a link to the parish register for 1830-1880 https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0552 So if Ann and John were baptized at Strokestown church, there records should be available on Roots Ireland and they are not there. I also did not find the James Melleny/Bridget Winters marriage record.
You mention Lathrem as a possible place name and I'm wondering if you are referring to Co. Leitrim which is a county that borders Co. Roscommon to the northeast and north.I also did not find any record there either.
Likely your ancestors were baptized and married in a parish in either Roscommon or Leitrimthat no longer have records back to the 1830s. There are a number of parishes that have later records.
I assume John and Anne emigrated and married in America?
You can also add John and Anne to our XO Chronicles site https://irelandxo.com/ireland-xo/history-and-genealogy/ancestor-database
Let me know if you have questions.
