Hello all,
I had a challenge set for me on my mothers family history.
Charles William Hurley Born in 1850 and married Alice Maud Havers born 1856. I have hit a dead end, any help is appreciated. Both passed away here in South Australia in 1934.
I've checked the immigration records and haven't found anything about either of them. My mum said the family stories are that Charles used to be a 'taxi' (horse and carriage) driver in London and knew the streets like the back of his hand. Also was apparently born in County Cork, Ireland. I have no other information on Alice as the family knew nothing about her. Thank you to anyone that can help!

I have searched the marriage records in both Ireland and England but do not see a marriage for this couple. Nor can I find them in any English census around 1881/1891. I see from the Hurley family tree on Ancestry that they had a son Charles born 1896. The tree doesn’t say where he was born. Do you know?

Charles, their son was born in Adelaide in 1896. I havent found a marriage certificate either but on death notices they are listed as married.
Any help is really appreciated! Thank you again!
