Hi I am seeking anyone who maybe a descendant of Christopher Conroy and his wife Margaret Deigan.

Their daughter Mary Conroy left Ireland aged 14 years to join her aunt [Mary Brien nee Conroy] in Parramatta NSW in 1877. Mary Conroy married my greatgrandfather William Charles Jones in Parramatta NSW in 1888.

Mary sponsored the immigration of various cousins and members of her own family including her brother John, who arrived on the Northhampton in 1880, to join his sisters Mary and Eliza Conroy.

Mary gives her birthplace as Tullamore but John said his parents were living in Killoughey at the time of his departure.

The children of Christopher and Margaret who I know came to NSW are John bc 1862 d NSW 1937 m 1890 NSW Mary Toomey; Mary bc 1866, d NSW 1920 m 1888 NSW William Charles Jones; Catherine bc 1863 d NSW 1957nm; Eliza[beth] b 1864 , d NSW 1966 nm ; Joseph bc 1876 d NSW 1954 nm.

I believe there was also a son called William  bc 1868; I don't know what happened to him, whether he remained in Ireland or went elsewhere.

I think Margaret Conroy nee Deigan and Christopher Conroy both died in Oct-Nov-Dec quarter 1910 registration district Tullamore.
