I am trying to find out any information about a Patrick and Mary McNERNEY, who are on the 1871 Census in Liverpool but give their places of birth as Ireland. On the 1871 census they have a daughter Mary born 1864/65 Ireland.

On the 1911 census they are still alive and in their 70's and have put the following:-

Patrick McInerney born. c.1843 Bunscotty, Clare, Ireland.

Mary McInerney born c.1841 Castlebar, Mayo, Ireland.

 

I cannot find a Bunscotty in Clare County and would be grateful of any help.

    Many thanks for your query.  I'm not aware of a bunscotty in County Clare, but there is a Bunratty.  If you go into the Clare County Library website, you can look up surnames in Griffiths valuation.  That valuation date is 1855 and there may have been McInerneys in Bunratty.  From there, you  can view the information by surname or by parish.  In addition, they have
