Through my family name research I came across a prison record about Michael and Patrick condron, Tullamore prison. I don'tt have access to these records and wondered if someone could help? Michael is my great grandfather. He left Ireland for mining on wales and am sure Patrick did to.... any help would be most appreciated x

I'd also like to know the church yard where Kieran condron was buried. I'm planning to visit this year and would love an indicator of where to go

My great grandfather Michael, Condron moved to Wales in the early 1900s. He lodged with (quite a wealthy family) the Prattens. He got together with the only child, Amelia pratten got together and my family was the result. I have found out quite a bit about Michael (Irish guards in WW1} but know very little about his father Kieran.... would love any help x

Hello Lisa and welcome to Ireland Reaching Out
Lisa do you have a birth registration for Michael Condron or the Tullamore prison record that we could look at please.
Condron is such a common Offaly name, I just want to see exactly what part of Offaly Michael came from.
Thanks

I did find a Kieran Condron who married a Mary Coughlan (another very common Offaly name)
They married in the Roman Catholic Church in Cloghan, Co Offaly 13th Aug 1874
Kierans father was Patrick and Mary's father was John
Now it looks like Gillen is the residence but that is probably now Gallen, they only think is why did they marry in Cloghan and not in Ferbane if they were both from Gallen, Ferbane
Would this be your Kieran do you think

Hi Geraldine, thank you for the information. This is my Kieran and his wife Mary. Would you have any information on where he was buried please? I'd like to visit his grave (if it still exists). I'm planning on doing a tour of County Offaly and would love to be able to visit the graves if my gg grandparents. Thank you for all your help, it is much appreciated.

Hello
I received this message back from Ferbane - I also asked what graveyards there were around Ferbane and Cloghan
Do you know where Kieran lived
Hi Geraldine,
We don’t have records for the Cloghan parish. I would need to know if his funeral took place in either High St. Church or Ferbane Church as these are the only records that we keep.
There are two in the Ferbane parish one in Kilrehan and one in High St. Then there are two in Cloghan they are Killourney and Kilcaman (this is a very old cemetery). There is one in Clonmacnois. Where did Kieran live that might give me some idea of where his funeral would have taken place, if you find out any more information you can let me know and I will see if I can help you.

Hi Geraldine, again thank you for your response. My research has shown that Kieran died on 9th November 1902 whilst living in Ferbane, Birr. I've not been able to pin down a parish though. Any light you can shine on him would be gratefully received. Happy St Patrick's Day to you x
