We are searching for our ancestor Patrick Costelloe (Costello) who arrived in Australia aged 10 in 1853 with his family mother Mary (born about 1805) who was a widow. Mary's other children were Daniel (21yrs) Margaret (19) and Cathrine (16). On their arrival in New South Wales, Australian their documents states that they were from O'dourney, County Kerry, Ireland. On a subsequent death certificate in Australia it states that Patrick's mother was Johanna Hogan and his father was Jeremiah Costelloe. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You should search www.irishgenealogy.ie to search for baptism and marriage records for your family. Kerry church records are available for the early 19th century.

Thank you for this, the church records are great, and I have found a number of Baptisms however there are no marriage records for the family, so maybe they had moved out of the area.
