Any assistance would be really appreciated...

Where should I look next?? Is there a Limerick DNA Project? Would the National Archives of Ireland have other records which could further the paper-trail this far back??

My 3gr-grandfather, Patrick CONEEN / CUNNEEN b. c1801 Co Limerick - aft 1871 New Brunswick, Canada; Parents / siblings / wife unknown. He has always been a mystery long before I ever started researching. He had 3 known children all born in New Brunswick according to the censuses with the youngest born between 1823 - 1829 depending on the record.

DNA-matched (good matches) to Philip CUNNEEN (c1780 - aft 1881) & Mary CONNELL (c1782- bef 1881). This family was paper-trailed and then atDNA-matched. Relationships not established.

1820 New Brunswick Land Petition shows Philip Cunneen (Sr) arrived 1818 in Miramichi, Northumberland County, New Brunswick, married with 2 children.

1821 Land Petition: Philip Cunneen Jr born c1798 and James Cunneen born c1800. They are "assumed" to be sons/o Philip Sr. Philip was recorded as Jr on document.

1831 Gloucester County, NBruns Marriage of Catherine Cunneen to Patrick Doyle; dau/o Patrick Cunneen (Sr) and Mary Connell (last name recorded in French/Latin as Coning).

No 1851 New Brunswick Census for their area of Northumberland/Gloucester Counties.

By 1860, Patrick and Mary Cunneen had left New Brunswick, Canada for Wisconsin, USA - with some of their descendants arriving earlier and recorded on the 1850 US Wisconsin Census. Patrick Cunneen Sr is last found on the 1880 Wisconsin Census in the household of Michael and Mary (Cunneen) Barrett as "father-in-law".

Ancestry's database for Ireland RCatholic records for St Patrick's Parish, Limerick, has a number of Baptisms for children of Philip Cunneen and Mary Connell - which match ages of some of their known children. While the early Land Petition records Philip Cunneen Sr with 2 children, these could have been 2 who were still living at home.

DNA-matched to a Catherine Cunneen b. 1833 Limerick; who arrived in Victoria, Australia in 1853. Relationship not est. 1854 Marriage Record: Parents - John Conneen and Margret (unreadable). No record for her found as yet on the Ireland records. Supposedly arrived with Murphy cousins whose parents were Patrick Murphy and Catherine Cunneen < not found.

Tests taken: AncestryDNA's atDNA and more recently FamilyTreeDNA's yDNA 111 (sparse results), mtDNA & FamilyFinder. Joined Ireland yDNA Project - also, FamilySearch, MyHeritage, IrishGenealogy and Findmypast + found the Journals on the Limerick City website about the Park Danes and the Cunneens.

    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

There is a Facebook group dedicated to individuals who have tested their DNA and have Co. Limerick connections https://www.facebook.com/groups/1447682661993115/ You would need to update your DNA to the Genesis Gedmatch site www.genesis.gedmatch.com They have a tool which will show you any matches to others in the group.

I also searched on the subscription site Roots Ireland and the earliest Philip Cunneen baptismal record on their data base was in 1813. There was also an 1816 record. See below. Not sure how these Philip Cunneens are connected to your ancestor.
