Hello,

 Just this past weekend I located a relative Daniel Dwyer baptized December 22, 1843 in Killaloe. His parents were Michael Dwyer and Jane Hickey. Michael and Jane had 2 other children Bridget baptized in 1833 and Michael baptized in 1836 at St. Mary's in Limerick.  Bridget is my great great grandmother, she emmigrated to Canada.  Daniel's baptismal record states Michael and Jane were from Ardnatagle.  If anyone could help with additional information pertaining to this family I would really appreciate it.

Sincerely,

Peggy Chrusciel

  • Hi Peggy;

    Thank you for your message query and apologies for the delay in replying. Ardnataggle is a townland in the parish of O'Briensbridge. It sounds as if the Dwyer family may have moved from Limerick to O'Briensbridge with Daniel being baptised in 1843. We have several Killaloe volunteers who have done a lot of work on transcribing records, and I will pass this query to one of them who may be able to add further information.
    Do you know when they arrived in Canada?

    The volunteer will reply to you on the message board. Many thanks for your interest in Ireland Reaching Out. Please feel free to add an Ancestor profile to the XO Chronicles. The link is here: https://irelandxo.com/ireland-xo/history-and-genealogy

    All the best,
