    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

There were five Davey families in the 1901 census for Drumaskibbole townland. Can you provide more specifics regarding your Davey family? Thanks!

  • Hi Rosemary!

I located the civil marriage record for John and Bridget in 1871 on the free site www.irishgenealogy.ie  Also, found the civil birth records for Peter and Mary. They were both born on October 18th which happens to be my birthday. By the way, the marriage record lists the names of the fathers of the bride and groom. I also found Peter's 1893 marriage record and the 1901 and 1911 census records for Peter and his family.  I did not locate death records for John and Bridget. Did Mary emigrate?

Thank you so much for this information! I have never been able to find anything about my great grandparents on my father’s maternal side.

Mary immigrated to the USA about 1900. She worked for many years as a maid in Newton, MA for a wealthy family. She didn’t marry until she was 36.Her spouse was Owen Higgins who immigrated from Galway. My husband and I visited Galway and connected with my father’s paternal side...Higgins. Their are many Higgins relatives in the US. My gramdmother’s Three nieces also immigrated to the US,married and settled in CT. One of them had a son who became a priest who married my husband and me.

If records on any odd my Davey relatives in the US would be helpful to you, I will be happy to send them.
