I am searching my great, great grandfather John Delaney born 1834 in Kilbarron according to his Britsh Army attestation papers .

His brother Michael was also born in Kilbarron 1832 according to his British Army attestation papers.

John was discharged in New Zealand in 1864 while Michael returned to Portumna from Crimea around 1857 with eye injury.

Michael possibly died in Parsonstown (Birr) poorhouse.

Trying to confirm parents names and possible siblings.

The names John Delaney and Michael Delaney were very common in Ireland in the 19th century. I assume you have no info on parents names?  There are three Kilbarron townlands in Ireland and two of them have civil parishes with the same name.

There is a Kilbarron townland in Feakle civil parish in Co. Clare. Records for the RC parish of Feakle do not start until 1860. There is a Kilbarron townland within the civil parish of Kilbarron in Co. Donegal and records for that parish start in 1854.

Finally, there is a Kilbarron townland within the civil parish of Kilbarron in Co. Tipperary. The related RC parish is Kilbarron/Terryglass. Records for that parish start in 1827. I searched the subscription site Roots Ireland and there were no John Delaney baptismal reocrds in the parish from 1829-1839.

Without additional info, it will be difficult to find any possible family records.

Let me know if you have any questions.
