  • Dear William,

I am interested in Denis Thomas O'Brien as a business partner and neighbour of Edward Clarke of Palmerstown, calico printer. (By the way, DTO'B's house Brooklawn, in Palmerstown, is still standing, and is now the headmaster's house at Kings Hospital.) I am writing a piece about Edward Clarke, and would like to include some of the detailed and interesting information on DTO'B which you have put on this page. I was wondering if you would be able to provide more detailed sources/references for some of the points, i.e.:

Comerford and O'Brien supplying Wolfe Tone with bills of exchange in 1795

DTO'B offering to serve in the Clonsilla Cavalry in 1796

Many thanks in advance for any help you can offer,

    David Skinner
