Hi,

I live in Norwich, England and I'm a Dillon on my mother's side.  I've been looking into the history of the Dillons in Killure and I know a bit about the people, but I'd be interested in finding out a bit more about the community and the churches of Killure and Kilgerril.  If anyone could point me in the right direction I'd be grateful.

Thanks,

Marie

  • Hi Marie,

You might try contacting the local parish website and newsletter if you're looking for specific information on the area. http://www.clonfertdiocese.ie/html/fohenagh.asp  You could also try the book Story of Killure, Fohenagh and Kilgerril Parish Over a Period of Almost 200 Years: by Tadhg MacLoughlainn, Galway 1975

Or the local community link  http://www.loughreaonline.com/blog.php .

I wish you the best of luck in your search.

Please make sure you link anyone else in your family who is interested in their Irish heritage to our site - and indeed anyone else you know of Irish heritage.
