I searched the subscription site Roots Ireland and the most likely baptismal record in Buncrana for your Catherine Doherty would be March 3 1876 father Patrick Doherty mother Madge Granny.

I'm looking for the civil birth record and will get back to you.

Hi Roger, unfortunately there is a conflict as headstone with Catherine’s name in Buncrana  shows age 75 and year of death as 1954. The census for Patrick McLaughlin in 1901 in Clonblosk registers Catherine (Kate, Cassie) as age 22 with two children Philip and Patrick which we know to be right McLaughlins. Is there any baptismal record for 1878-1880 in Buncrana with a Patrick Doherty from Illies as Dad that might work.

The only record in Buncrana RC parish from 1875-1885 for a Catherine Doherty with father Patrick is the 1876 record.

From my searches, I was unable to locate a civil birth record for Catherine.

Do you know the names of any of her siblings?

Also, she may have made herself younger when she married. I note that in the 1911 census she was 33.

Hi Roger. Thank you for that information. It would be a stretch to believe that Catherine's civil record would be in Clonmany or Moville. I do not have access to church records so your information points towards wrong age on 1901 and 1911 census. Unfortunately I do not have any information on Catherine's siblings, as I was trying to work my way around a civil record to determine her parents and through that determine siblings. Patrick McLaughlin, Catherine's husband was my wife's grandfather on her Dad's side and while I have worked my way through her ancestors everywhere else, I am stuck on Catherine Doherty. I do appreciate your help and that information re the only baptismal record could be important.
