Am trying to locate origin of the Donahue/Donohoe rumored to be from Kerry but nothing concrete.  Elizabeth Cain Donahue b 1773 emigrated to Canada with sons James  1809, John 1812, Thomas 1818, Daniel, maybe Mary.  We assume Fa was James probably died in Ireland.  They probably left early 1830's.  Any clues for records that early?

  • I have a johannah donohoe who was born 1833 married patrick obrien in Birr Offaly there children were Henrietaa who married Monty Gladstone an english man she met after coming to Australia with her sister mary Agnes

    Henrietta was born in 1856

Patrick William and MaryAnne I believe either stayed in Ireland or perhaps went to uSA. Difficult to trace but I have quite a lot of her husbands family. I think they were realtively well off compared to many others as the obriens did quite well.

  • Hi Gail. Elizabeth Cain was born in 1775 in County Kildaire Ireland and passed 1866 in Quebec Cananda. Her husband's name was James Donahue born 1770 in County Meath Ireland and passed in 1860 in Quebec, Canada. Their children were Daniel, James, John, Mary, and Thomas (Thomas is my GG Gpa) I have a lot on information on this on my family tree at ancestry, but I can't seem to get further back then James & Elizabeth. I'm not sure how to share it to you here but feel free to look up my family tree or email me lyndonahue@outlook.com
