looking for any information on the John Donovan wife Johanna  Clan. Probably married around 1793 lived in Glin Limerick had two daughters that I know of Catherine and Ellen. Catherine b abt 1816 Ellen b.about 1813.These women married two brothers john Timothy Cosgriff B 1811  married to Ellen and Michael Cosgriff born abt 1816 married to Catherine. They lived in Glin until they fled bag and baggage to Onatrio with all of their kids in spring of 1850. They took the girs mother Johanna with them so I am assuming the father John Donovan died prior to 1850..  I have written to the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Glin and found ou the church records prior to 1850 were lot in a fire.

    Costwo,

Regarding your query, a John O'Donovan of Millview, Co. Limerick died in 1847 following a malicious injury sustained while returning from Mass in Shanagolden.

He was a wealthy land and mill owner and the father of 11 children. Eldest who was 21 years.

Is this the family you have in mind?
