One of my great great grandmothers was Anty Dunphy born 1797. She married William Maher (Meagher) & they had a daughter, Mary who married Thomas Kavanagh.
Mary & Thomas emigrated to Australia in 1860’s. I would love to know more about the Dunphy connection.
Many thanks

Welcome back to Ireland Reaching Out!
I located the parents marriage record on Roots Ireland. There was a baptismal record for a Joanna Meagher in 1825 but no record for Mary. However, I noticed that there is a gap for the Carrick on Suir baptismal records from 1826-1834 https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/1101 so the record for Mary and any other siblings born in that time period will not be found.

Hello Roger. Thank you for your prompt reply. It’s great to have another person to add to my tree ie Johanna. Also very helpful to know about the gap in Carrick’s records - saves a lot of anguish!
I’ve had to modify William Maher’s birth year - it just didn’t fit with his marriage & birth of Johanna. There are so many Maher (Meaghers) in the surrounding areas
I may never be sure which one is mine.
Through AncestryDNA I’ve recently been in contact with a distant cousin in New Zealand through the Dunphys.i can’t go back much further than Anty Dunphy at the moment. I’m really wanting Anty to have a sibling or cousin named Patt. So far, no joy. Do you have some ideas? Any help gratefully accepted. Regards, Denyse
