Hello, I need some assistance for this:
My 2nd great granmother, Mary Ann Farrell, was born in 1833 in Templemichael, Longford. Her parents are: Edward Farrell and Bidy McCann.
About Edward and Bidy, I have no clue of their marrriage, but looking on Ancestry, I found a marriage record for an Edward Farrelly and a Bridget McCann or McCanna, on Moyalty ( Meath) the same year Mary Ann was born.. so, my question is: could be that marriage record from the parents of Mary Ann? Will you please take a look and tell me what do you think about it?
Here is the link to the record I was reading on Ancestry:

I kow that MOyalty is very distant from Templemichael, but I need some help here
TIA

Diana,
It is possible, but very unlikely. Mary Ann was born in Templemichael in late March 1833 and the wedding took place in Moynalty in late May 1833. As you say, there is a good distance between the places. Also, there are a few Farrelly names on the Moynalty page, indicating that the name was common at that time.
I know names can be spelled differently, but I would say it is most likely a coincidence that the names are similar.
Best wishes, Kieran
