Hello from Australia. Is there anyone that can help me find information on the Kennedy part of my family search..
Mary Kennedy born Tipperary, abt 1818. father Edward Kennedy and mother Catherine Tracey. Mary had a family with George Edwards, in Australia..Brother Edward born Killaloe, Tipperary 1831. Same parents..Mary died 1912, Binnaway, NSW. On her Death Cert it has that her Father was a Soldier..I cannot find Mary and George's marriage, nor anything on her Family, other than the brother I found...I would so love to find out all that I can..Like all her family, her parents family..what happened to all of them and how she ended up in Australia. The children of Mary and George all have different info on their records, so that makes it even harder..I would so like to also get copies of any and all paperwork that would be there as well..Any and all advice will be just great...Regards Kerry

Hi Kezza, you say....
Brother Edward born Killaloe, Tipperary 1831.
Is this from Ancestry? the Parish Record books......in Ancestry t's a copy of the Registersnli site. It's Nenagh and Lisbouny. May 1831 he Baptised.
Earlier record are not listed for Baptisms in that area.I looked in the Tithe records to find Edward the father, the nearest to Nenagh is Woodville, Ballygibbon.
The brother Edward b 1831 did he die in Ballarat in 1912?
Bit of a struggle trying to find any iformation.

Further to the Post by Margot, I attach record of an Edward Kennedy who as a Volunteer n the Militia and also an Edward Kennedy who appears to have been a regular soldier.
The surname "Kennedy" is very common in County Tipperary.

Hi McCoy, good find. I am joining FMP in January 2022.
The Edward Kennedy records you found, does it have the place of birth anywhere for him?
I know it's not on the docs.
In Ancestry there another group of records almost the same approx birth year 1800/1.
The Ancestry records show he was from Kilmore, Tipperary. This is south of Nenagh and where my family came from.
Kind regards

Margot,
There are two Military men, one parish of Bincow? and the other parish of Kilmore.
I attach detail of the man from Kilmore and a transcript of the other.
Tipperary Studies - studies@tipperarycoco.ie may be able to help. I have checked the Tirhe records and Griffith's but did not see any record that resembled it.

Hi MCoy,
Thanks for the information.I think Bancaw is Ballincur its near Dolla and Silvermines.
Munroe is Monroe and is near Feathard.
I know all my Kennedy's, it's just now and again I find others from the same area from earlier years.
Mine moved from Kilmore up to Kilkeary then to Borrisokane.
Then some of the Borrisokane people then went to Australia and New Zealand, I am in touch with these, I can pick these out by the way they spell the townland name. Thanks again

i have found a Hello Margot and MCoy, I was just delighted to see your replies..I did leave a message yesterday, but i thin k that i sent to to message heaven..So nshall try again. thank you both so very much for replying to me. I was just so excited to see both of them, and to see the information that was there as well..So excited to go through it all. later today. Am i right in thinking that it will just give me more questions? I love how info does that, but also find it can drive me nuts..but cannot stop..Do you think that Catherine Tracey would be english? Am confused as to why i cannot find their marriage, or more children...If Mary was born around or on, 1818, then there is a gap between her and her brother, Edward. I did do a search, by just putting the parents names in, and Tipperary, and Edward popped up..Will be looking at finding Edward here as well..Margo, the info is very basic..Just, Edward Kennedy..Baptism 1831Tipperary..Diocese killaloe..Father Edward Kennedy. Mother Cath Tracey..I have just found a NSW Deceased estate File for Mary Edwards..(Kennedy) Binnaway, NSW. When Mary died, she was a Store Keeper.., i have paid for a copy, so shall just have to wait for it to come..The Kennedy name was a very busy name..Regards Kezza

Hi Kezza,
Oh yes you will have more questions.
I can't get into your Trove site, have you ever found Mary's ship record?
Looking forward to any information on the Deceased Estate file.
I do have Tracey in my family I know they came from an area in South Tipperary. You say.....
Margo, the info is very basic..Just, Edward Kennedy..Baptism 1831Tipperary..Diocese killaloeYou must have seen it in the Parish Books in Ancestry. Go back to where you found it.
At the top of the Ancestry page link you will see the years to and from and NENAGH, then Killaloe. The Killaloe Diocese covers, County Tipperary, County Clare and County Limerick.
As it says Nenagh then it's in the Nenagh area. Nenagh covers a wide area.
Some Parish book show the townland or address, Nenagh doesn't, well not until later years.Margot
