My Great Grandmother is Elizabeth Monaghan (nee McCloskey). She was born around 1882, married around 1901 to Hugh Monaghan (b.circa1870)... They were Roman Catholic and lived in Killymard Donegal Mullans area.
Elizabeth and Hugh had 4 children...
Hugh b.1901
Catherine and Mary (twins) b.1902
Bridget b.1904 (my Grandmother)
By the 1920s Hugh and the children had crossed to America.
Elizabeth stayed behind and never, as far as I can tell, left Ireland. She lived with an older sister, Cassie McCloskey, in Killymard.
I think she may have passed away in the 1970s.
Any info on her would greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
James O'Malley

Welcome back to Ireland Reaching Out!
Here is the August 1901 civil marriage record for Hugh and Elizabeth. https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/marriage_returns/marriages_1901/10318/5755744.pdf. See last record on page. Both fathers were named Hugh but were deceased.
I searched for a death record and did not locate a record but records only go thru 1968. I did find a birth record for Elizabeth in 1880. Her mother was Bridget Brennan. https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/birth_returns/births_1880/02885/2057003.pdf

Hi Roger,
THANK YOU!!
This brings me a little bit closer to knowing all I can about her.
The mystery for me is why she would not have followed her husband and children.
I'll keep looking..
Thanks again for your help,
James
