Looking for information for Elizabeth Osborne married to Philip Osborne 1848 in the St. Paul's Arran Quay parish of Dublin city. They are parents to Anne & John Osborne & possibly a Julia Osborne too.
Philip Osborne was over 10 years her senior & was in the foreign legion with the 35th Regiment Foot. He was also a Chelsea out-patient which shows on his discharge papers his residence in Waterford.
I cannot find the parents of Elizabeth however it is believed she was born in Ireland approx.1830 & emigrated to Tasmania, Australia 1852-54 where she married a Scottish convict John Brown Bishop in 1854.
Any information would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

  • Hi

I just had a look at the Dublin church records the children are listed there but not the marriage with her parents names, this makes me believe it might have been a military registration that was not recorded in a church, you might be able to find it in the military records of Findmypast.ie

  • Hi Anne Marie,

Thank you so much for your reply.

I have just taken another look & found that Philip & Elizabeth were married in St. Pauls, Arran Quay, Dublin City & not St. Thomas like the children.
Did you also happen to find the baptism of Julia? I cannot find any confirmed recorded information for either Julia or Philip & Elizabeth's family roots on any platform.
