  • Regarding Ellen & Helen, in Ireland the 2 names are interchangeable. People named Ellen are frequently called Helen too and you will often see both being used in official records for the same person. (So not really a transcription error).  There are many other similar names like that Agnes & Ann, Sarah & Sally. All interchangeable.

There’s at least 10 trees on Ancestry with this family. Grace looks to have moved to Hull soon after her marriage. (Her husband was born in Dewsbury, Yorkshire). 4 children listed all born in England. Robert 1906 – 1964; Elizabeth 1908 –1930; John 1909-1986 (died Spain)  & Ellen 1912 – no date.

In 1911 the family were at 6 Alpha St, Hull, Yorks & in 1947,  in Elland Yorks. Though Grace's husband's surname is Townsend on her marriage certificate, thereafter it's Townend. (Important if you are searching the records).

One of the Ancestry trees is the Amanda Morrison family.  If you have an Ancestry sub you could contact her, or some of the other trees there if you want more information.
