I am looking for any information on the ancestors of Farrell Conlon. Listed is what I have gathered over the years. Birth - About 1811 in Carrowmore, Sligo. Residence in 1821 Calary, Sligo. Occupation farmer from 1833 - 1883 in Carncash, Parish of Calary, Sligo Co. Married Winnfred Tymon, daughter of James Tymon and Nancy O'Gara, 14 April, 1843 in Sligo Town, Sligo County. They had eight children. Farrell died 14 July 1883 in Carrowmore, Parish of Kilmacowen, Sligo. Hope to visit Sligo sometime in the next few years and make more connections with my Conlon, Tymon, and O'Gara relatives.

    I did a number of searches on the subscription site Roots Ireland. There was a record for a April 14 1833 marriage between a Fergal Conlon and a Winifred Timon in the Sligo town RC parish. These notes were shown on the record which I don't remember seeing before.

    Notes:

    DETAILS PROVIDED BY USA RESEARCHER: HUSBAND'S ADDRESS IS COOLERA;
    WIFE'S PARENTS IS JAMES TIMON & NANCY O'GARA. WIFE'S SURNAME WAS
    ORIGINALLY ENTERED AS FINAN BUT CHANGED TO TIMON

    I located baptismal records for two of the children: Fergal Conlon baptized December 14 1848 in Sligo town. Father Fergal Conlon and mother Winifred Timony and John Conlon baptized January 9 1853 father Farrell Conlon mother Winifred Timony. Same church.

    The 1858 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing shows eight Farrell Conlan/Conlon records including the Carrowmore shown on the 1883 death record.

    I don't think Farrell/Fergal was from Calry parish but Kilmacowen parish.

    Let me know if you have any questions.

    Thank you very much for the information. My search for my Conlon roots, started many years ago when I began learning about my 2nd great - grandfather John B. Duguo who was a schooner fishing captian living in Gloucester Massachusetts USA. He married Bridget Conlon 22 Nov. 1864, a native of Sligo Ireland, daughter of Farrell. I have Bridget's birth as, 18 Jan. 1835.
