I,m looking for any information regarding the Family of Michael Fitzpatrick (b 1881) Rinn, Kilkelly, and his wife Ann Luby (b1889) from Cuiltybo, Murneen. They married in 1916 and had a daughter Rose (b 1917) and 3 sons Thomas (b 1917) Patrick (b 1920) and Michael John ( b 1922) and settled in Cuiltybo. I believe Rose married a Michael John Regan and stayed in the area and had 2 daughters and 2 sons. I dont know what happened to Thomas, Patrick and Michael John. I,m told there is a family connection but not sure how or if this is on my mothers or fathers side. Any help would be appreciated.

  • Steve:

I'm sorry you did not receive a response from our local volunteer. The free site www.irishgenealogy.ie has civil marriage records thru 1945. The only record I located was for the parents in 1916.  See last record   https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/marriage_re…

Rose must have married after 1945.

  • I have worked the descendants of this line,I have DNA proven 11 south Mayo Fitzpatrick lines to be Mac Giolla Phádraig Dàl gCais, an official Clans of Ireland which I am the leader of. Unfortunately, I have not found anyone in this line that has taken a DNA test kit for me to work. At this point of my research, I feel that all the early Fitzpatricks from South Mayo and the Frenchpark area of Roscommon are all Dál gCais Fitzpatricks. I have also proven 4 from Roscommon, 1 from Galway and 3 from Clare.
There is a Facebook and Gedmatch project called Fitzpatrick DNA & Genealogy, and South Mayo DNA & Genealogy.
