Hello first post.
My gt grandfather came from Tullamore John Patrick Flanagan b 1890 died 1943 in England. He never married my gt grandmother as he was already married and had 6 children in Ireland according to my nan. I have never been able to find any more info on this marriage until today I have 4 possibles and wondering if anyone can help how i would go about finding more info. John Patrick Flanagan father was Joseph b 1867 d1943 Kings county and he married Ellen Sullivan thats all info I have from Johns birth cert and joseph marriage cert they was Roman Catholic and army people according to my nan. Jons pension went to his family in Ireland and we dont even no where his buried. Anyway the 4 poss mrriags i have found

Just wonder if you are aware that when Joseph married Ellen Sullivan on 29/12/1888 in Cork he was indeed listed as a soldier, Lance Corporal in the 2nd Leinster Regiment but his address then on the marriage cert was given as Shorncliff Kent. Ellen was aged 19 and a servant. On the birth cert of Christopher John Patrick is listed as being a discharged soldier. He is also named as Michael on the birh certificae of his son Michael (John has been crossed out).

Hello yes I see that about John being crossed out and Micheal put there but same wife as John Patrick I don't understand that. Also yes I have Joseph and Ellen marriage cert I ordered it to see if any forther info on their parents etc to try go forther back but I camt find them and Joseph and Ellen's children look like they born all over one in Kent one on India few in offaly. Was it normal for the wife of a soilder to travel with husband? Thank you for your response
