Marriage record for Francis Scott/Magret Bulger states 9 Feb 1850 at Enniscorthy Parish, Ferns Diocese, Wexford County. (Indexing from FindMyPast says the names are Francis Scott/Marynick Bolyer; the actual record reads differently).
Margret's US death certificate (18 Dec 1905) shows her parents as Edward Bulger and Catherine Hawkins. Found Baptismal records for children of Edward and Catherine at Ferns P., Ferns D., Wexford C., as such: Mary-27 Sep 1822; John-3 Jun 1825; Margt.- 14 Jul 1828; Anne-15 Oct 1832; Peter-25 Jun 1835. Cannot find a marriage from 1819 thru 1824 at either Enniscorthy or Ferns for Edward/Catherine.
Francis' US Death Certificate has no parents listed nor any place of parents birth. Simply lists Ireland as his birthplace. He died on 31 Mar 1889 at 69 yrs, 1 mos, 28 dys., (Using my cool website that will figure a birth date for you from this data - ovs-genealogy.com) I came up with a birth date of 3 Feb 1820. Can find no Francis Scott nor any parents with last name Scott in Baptismal records for Enniscorthy or Ferns for the periods 1816 through 1824.
I just found out (30 Dec2019 - my birthday by the way) about Irish naming practices. On a lark I checked my records for Francis/Margret in the US. His first son's name was William, his second son's name is Edward and his third son's name is Francis. That jives exactly with the pattern I had found! SoI do believe that Francis's father is William Scott. I've had no time to research the records yet for William.
Any clues on how I can furher my research into Edward Bulger/Catherine Hawkins and William Scott?
