Hi, My 3x great grandmother was Anne Gallagher born in 1852 in Cavanacor, Donegal to Edward Gallagher and Anne (Nancy) McGranaghan. Anne was one of 12 siblings born to Edward and Anne/Nancy. I have found some records on Anne's siblings but not for her. Following is a list of the children of Edward and Anne/Nancy:
Arthur came to America and married Martha? settled in Philadelphia
Eleanor married twice Joseph Ralston and ? Flanagan. She had four children with Ralston. I have found her Birth and marriage records in Ireland. After the death of Ralston she came to America with her four children and settled in Philadelphia
Edward came to America and married Mary? They had one son Edward.
James remained in Ireland and did not marry
William remained in Ireland
Anne my 3x great grandmother. Came to America and married John McCrory of Tyrone and settled in Philadelphia. They had 12 children, 7 died in infancy.
Margaret came to America and married Edward McGuigan (firsh cousin of my 3x great grandfather John McCrory) settled in Philadelphia
John came to America and settled in northern New Jersey
Patrick came to America and settled in northern New Jersey
Peter was drown at about 8 years old in Ireland
Mary Jane married Robert McCrea in Ireland and had three children. They and their children came to America and settled in Philadelplhia and had three more children.
Alexander died in Ireland as a small baby.
I am interested in any Irish records on my 3x great grand mother Anne Gallagher McCrory. Also any record of her parents and siblings that remained in Ireland and the location of the family homestead in Cavanacor.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Meg

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
Below is a link to the parish register for Clonleigh/Lifford RC Parish. Unfortunately, there is a big gap in baptismal records from May 1837 to early 1853 and most of the Gallagher children were born in that period. Roots Ireland did have a record for Ellen in 1837 and Alexander in 1854.
I also checked the 1857 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Clonleigh civil parish and there was no Gallagher in Cavanacor which is unfortunate because you could have tracked the location of the property. Either Edward had a very small holding or possibly he was deceased by 1857.
I checked the 1901 census for Cavanacor and there were no Gallagher’s listed.
I also checked the 1826 Tithe listings for Cavanacor and only the landlord was shown.
You may want to consider autosomal DNA testing.
By the way, my Brennan ancestors also lived in Clonleigh parish and most of them went to Philadelphia.
