Trying to find out where in Ireland my 3 times great-grand dad came from. Named George Madden. Born about 1821. First record of him being in Canada was marrying Catherine McAndrew in Ottawa in 1850. Eventually settling in Onslow, Pontiac, Quebec. Children were Ann, Bridget, George, Henry, Patrick, Thomas and Esther Ann.

Do you have any other information on George that you could share? Do you know the names of his parents or any siblings he may have had?
Do you know much about his emigration? Generally, more information was given at the port of arrival rather than that of departure so if you knew where he arrived it may be a place to find information-and perhaps even an exact place of origin.
