Hi,

I'm having trouble finding birth details (around 1828-32) for my great grandfather Gilbert Aldridge Boardman who states Kildare as his birth county on his RIC record. His father was Joseph Boardman a gent. It seems he is the first child in the Boardman family to have these first names (and they were carried on for the next 2 generations) so it makes me wonder if his mother was an Aldridge? I came across a Gilbert Aldridge as a tithe collector (Quaker records) for the Parish of Dunaday in 1784. In 1841 there is a Gilbert Aldridge with a house in Donore.

I have found numerous Joseph Boardman's (I had been told they were Quakers) but have not come across a Boardman/Aldridge link. I was beginning to think his father was Joseph Boardman who married Deborah Watson in 1804 but that marriage is a bit early for his birth in 1828/32 unless he married a second time?

I'd be grateful for any help to solve this brick wall.
