We have returned from our second trip to Ireland.We were hosted by our 4th cousin, Marie Heffernan Shortt and her husband, Christy Shortt from Thurles.We had a lovely two weeks to explore and enjoy Ireland. Marie took us to the gravesites, an old school and the Heffernan Homestead which was still standing.Marie also invited all our cousins to the Monk's Pub on 15 May 2019 for a meet and greet. We had 27 Heffernan family members attend....We had great music and got to know each other as we had never met.It was more than I ever could have hoped for. I will never forget this trip and thank all the Heffernans and their spouses it was wonderful to meet you all and I will hold a special place for all of you in my heart.We can stay in touch now Without Marie answering my letter for information on the Glenough Heffernans this would not be possible and I am so thankful to her and her husband.
