I've just read a Member's comment about a 'gravestone project'. Can someone kindly enlighten me on this? I'm originally from Waterford and am hoping to visit PATRICKSWELL, KNOCKAINY when I'm home next year. I don't imagine my DAVERN ancestors will have a headstone but I'd still like to stroll around the graveyard where his family are likely to have been buried.

Thank you for any hints...your Members have been very helpful so far!

Kind Regards

  • Hi Davern - My g-grandmother was a Daveron (aka Davern) from N Clare. We have a lot of information on the family. We understand the spelling came from a family disagreement so one half moved across the "hill" and changed the spelling from Davoren to Davern. A number of the Davern went to Minnasota US. Have you had your DNA done? I havee mine posted many place and ahppy to share. Regards Dorann (

Feedback for Volunteer CHRISTINA (above) re I've browsed St. Mary's,  Knockainy + St. John's, Patrickswell and found some Davern headstones. I intend 'investigating' the information found on those headstones. I appreciate your help very much :-)

    Kind Regards
