Hello,

I've just read a Member's comment about a 'gravestone project'. Can someone kindly enlighten me on this? I'm originally from Waterford and am hoping to visit PATRICKSWELL, KNOCKAINY when I'm home next year. I don't imagine my DAVERN ancestors will have a headstone but I'd still like to stroll around the graveyard where his family are likely to have been buried.

Thank you for any hints...your Members have been very helpful so far!

Kind Regards

Davern

Feedback for Volunteer CHRISTINA (above) re historicgraves.ie. I've browsed St. Mary's,  Knockainy + St. John's, Patrickswell and found some Davern headstones. I intend 'investigating' the information found on those headstones. I appreciate your help very much :-)

    Kind Regards

  • It sounds like you're planning a trip to visit the final resting place of your DAVERN ancestors. That's cool! As for the "gravestone project" that was mentioned, I'm not exactly sure what that refers to. It could be a local initiative to document and preserve the history of the cemetery or perhaps a personal project of a member.

  • Regardless of whether or not you're able to locate a headstone for your ancestors, I'm sure it will still be a meaningful experience to visit the cemetery and connect with your family's history.

  • These projects can be really helpful for people who are doing genealogy research or trying to locate the burial site of a particular ancestor.
If you're interested in getting a headstone for your ancestors, Worthington Monuments offers a variety of Bronze Memorials that can be customized to include the names, dates, and even images of your ancestors. It could be a nice way to honor their memory and ensure that they have a lasting presence in the cemetery.
