County by county Halloween was known by different names, such as "November Night" (Cork), Snap-Apple-Night, "Colcannon Night" and even "Home Festival" (Dublin).

SEE Halloween Traditions Across Ireland

The food traditionally eaten on that night varied as well. Boxty in some countied, Colcannon in others.

~ What traditional fare was on the Halloween table in your home growing up?

Did the games you played include the saucers game? The main three common to all counties were clay (death), water (emigration) and the ring (marriage).

~ How many saucers were used in your house? And what was in them?

What Halloween traditions did your ancestors keep alive in the family? And bring with them after emigrating?

~  Tell us about them in the comments below!
