Hi I was curious if there was any one out there that has Ward family from County Monaghan. My family immigrated from Monaghan during the Potato Famine to Tow Law Co. Durham, England after the potato famine.
Peter Ward is believed to be born between 1827-1830 who married Rebecca Mary Brett in 1857 in Tow Law , Co. Durham.
On the marriage certificate it says his father was Philip Ward and was an agricultural laborer and had died by the time of the marriage in 1857. It's unknown as to where or when he died.
I know there was a lot of Irish immigrants living in the area who worked in the coal industry and would love to see if there's anyone on here with any info on Philip or Peter or any Monaghan Wards and if we share any relatives
