Thomas Louth, my great-great grandfather from County Meath left a will when he died 19 May 1876. In this will it was written:
"17 august
The Will of Thomas Louth (in Will written "Lowth") late of Hoatstown County Meath Farmer deceased who died 19 May 1876 at same place was proved at the Principal Registry by the ooaths of James Mathew of Killearny and Patrick Louth of Syddan Mill both in said County Farmers the Executors".

I cannot find Hoatstown in County Meath, though I saw an 1806 reference to it. In my Louth/Lowth searches I have found other references to this area. My great grandfather, also Thomas, and his siblings are listed as being born in Duleek, which I think is a parish rather than a town. Is Hoatstown truly a town? Does it still exist?

It will likely be a variant spelling the townland of Howthstown (299 acres), civil parish of Siddan. Still there today:

Griffiths Valuation lists a James Louth farming there in the 1850s:

Presume it’s the same family as Henry in the 1901 census was the informant for Thomas’s death.
