I am a gggrandson of Hugh Fitzpatrick believed to have been born in Meath in 1807. My DNA results show I also have a connection with a Ellen Fitzpatrick from Kildare born I believe around 1810. Records show a family of Fitzpatricks living in Athy around this time with baptisms showing as Dublin, parents Patt Fitzpatrick and Mary Hurley, although no record of Hugh and Ellen. I am looking for any possible decendants of this family who have done a DNA test so I can confirm or refute a connection.

Robert:
I also did not find a Hugh or an Ellen Fitzpatrick with parents Patrick and Mary Hurley. There was an April 15 1816 baptismal record in Athy for an Ellen Fitzpatrick with father Patt Fitzpatrick and mother Bridget Delaney. Here is a link to the parish register. You may want to search the register for a possible record for Hugh Fitzpatrick.

There are some family tree's that suggest that Ellen was born to Patt and Bridget Delaney. Her transportation records show her as 27 years old when she left Ireland on the Diamond in 1837. I believe Ellen may be my Hugh's cousin ie Hugh's father and Patt being brothers. I have found a Hugh being born in Mullingar in 1807 to Hugh and Mary O'reilly, some distance from Athy in Kildare. Saying that I have found a Hugh Fitzpatrick and Mary O'reilly being married in Dublin in 1790. Possibly both families tied to a particular church. As records are scarce I am tring to locate any descendants who have had a DNA test done.
