Joseph Hunter was born about 1772. He married 1st Margaret (LNU) and had the following children in Mullaghcroghery:

Joseph married 2nd Jane and had the following children:
James b.c1801 m. Elizabeth Anderson
Ann "Nancy" b. 1805 m. William "Billy" Oliver
David b. 13 Apr 1807 m. Jane Hamilton (of Ballybay)
George b. c1809
Joseph b. 08 May 1810, m. Margaret Scott
Sarah b. 1812 m. John Nelson (of Corvally)
Nathaniel b. c1814, m. Margaret Hamilton (of Ballybay) - my 2g-grandarents
William b. 1817, m. Rachel Smith
Mary b. 1819, m. John Scott
Charlotte b. 1820, m. James Scott
Thomas b. Jul 1823 (Co. Fermanagh), m. Sarah Unwin Reeve
John b. 1825, m. Amelia Lundy (her parents were also from Magheross)
This family emgrated to Peel Co., Ontario, Canada, between 1826 and 1836. Numerous other families including Lundy, Nelson, Oliver and Eakins also left Magheross in the same time frame and settled in Peel Co. Townlands included Mullaghcroghery, Shanco, Lisdrumturk, Ardragh, Corvally, Drumgurra, Drummond Etra, Sreenty, Raferagh and Carrickmacross,
