I have done a deal of research on this family but have struck a problem

My tree is Daniel Hurley 1600-1670 born and died in Cork Ireland. He married Catherine ??

His son Patrick Hurley 1620-1690 born in Cork and died in Cork.  He married Margaret Dineen born 1620 Kilmurry Co Clare

this is where the blockis.  Did Patrick have two sons : 1.  Daniel born 1645 Cork (or Co Clare) and died 1706 Maryland USA.  He married Elizabeth V Widmore or Elizabeth More.  2. Timothy Hurley born 1660 Cork Ireland and died 1722 in Maryland.

Or does this Timothy Hurley belong to another?  He can't be a son o fDaniel as Daniel would only have been 15 years of age when he had him.

  • Hi Patricia, I'm also a descendant of Daniel Hurley who moved to Maryland USA from Ireland. I've been able to trace my lineage to his son, William Francis Hurley born in 1700 but I haven't been able to find more information about his grandparents Patrick and Maureen (Dineen) Hurley in Ireland. I was made aware that there has been extensive research on the Hurley lineage after their arrival to America by William Neal Hurley Jr. but unfortunately, both books volume 1 and 2, Hurley families in America is out of print. The first volume has his son Daniel Hurley (born 1701) and his descendants. I was told volume 2 has his other son, my ancestor William Francis Hurley and his descendants. I would love any and all information or to be pointed in a direction to research. Thank you so much, I appreciate your time.

    I apologize for the late reply as I had difficulty locating this post again. I thought I would get a notification from the website as well that a response had been made.

    I currently live in North Carolina but I'm originally from Hawaii. I haven't been able to get farther than Daniel Hurley in cork county from genealogy sites.
