  • Hi Lisa,

Subscription site  www.rootsireland.ie has a transcription of the baptism of James Dixon. His mother's name is recorded as "Dixon".

The church record is not on the web. You will need to contact the parish for further information.

  • Thanks for the attachments McCoy.  Very helpful!  I note there is no contact information for the  Stradbally with Clonea and Ballylanheen, Waterford  parish records.

The List  refers only to Roots Ireland which you indicate does not contain the full record.

Is there a physical address I could contact for baptismal records.

  • Dear Lisa,

The original register is in the Cotton Library in Lismore Cathedral. It covers baptisms and burials between 1798 and 1861, and marriages between 1798 and 1845. The entry reads: "1812 Jany 12th James son to Sam[ue]l & [blank] Dixon, Mayo Militia"

To contact the Cotton Library, email: cottonlibrarylismore@outlook.ie

    Best wishes with your research,
