I have been searching for years to find the parents of James Keating. He emigrated to New Zealand with his brothers, Thomas and William. The brothers didn't marry.. James married in New Zealand to Elizabeth Ann Gibson. He died in an accident in Arrowtown in 1895. On his death certificate his parents are shown as James and Elizabeth. I feel that that is too much of a coincidence as they are James and Elizabeth. I feel that as the information would have been given by his wife who would have been in shock. There are no parents shown on either Thomas's or William's death certificates. All the names Thomas, James and William have been handed down in the family. .

Do you know which of the brothers were the eldest as a lot of the time the first son would have been named after the father. It might help if you had any idea which part of Dublin the family came from.
What age was James when he died in 1895? Also when did they emigrate to New Zealand?

The oldest brother who came to NZ was Thomas. All what I have is on his death certificate that gave his birth as Dublin. I have that his birth was about 1842, which makes him about 52. So far I haven't been able to find out when he emmigrated. He was probably a steerage pssenger who are not named.
As you can see I have very little on him before he came to New Zealand.
