There are Quaker records for Ballynacree Meeting House in PRONI in Belfast, but I don’t think they go back to the 1690s. However you would need to get someone to check that.
Researching someone born in Ireland in the 1600s is usually pretty difficult. There are very few records to consult.
Findmypast has some Irish Quaker records on-line but as I say I don’t think there are any for Ballynacree in the 1600s.
I did look at the Ballynacree records in PRONI some years ago and as far as I can remember it was quite a small Meeting House with perhaps no more than 10 families attending.

Thanks for the info. Some questions:
1. What is PROI and how do I access it?
2. Would the Quackers have been part of the Scottish/Engilsh occupation of Ireland?
3. How would I contact any Moores still living in Antrim or that area?
4. Since Antrim is now part of the North would it be more approprate to be communicating with someone from there?
Thanks again for your assistance. Stephen Wilhite, sawilhite@yahoo.com

Stephen,
1. PRONI is the public record office for Northern Ireland. It is in Belfast. Some of their more commonly used records are on-line but the majority, including the Quaker records, are not. You need to go in person. (Or get a researcher to do that for you). PRONI: https://www.nidirect.gov.uk/proni
You could e-mail PRONI to ask what years the Ballynacree Quaker records cover. But to look the actual records up you would need to get someone to go in person. Contacting PRONI by e- mail, letter or phone:
PRONI, 2 Titanic Boulevard
Titanic Quarter, Belfast, BT3 9HQ
Phone: 028 9053 4800
Fax: 028 9025 5999
Email: proni@communities-ni.gov.uk
2. Quakers would not have been part of the Plantation of Ireland. The key years for the Plantation were 1610-1630. The Society of Friends (Quakers) did not exist then. It was founded by George Fox (1624 – 1691) and the first meeting in Ireland did not take place till 1654. Quakers would have been mainly English settlers who came to Ireland after the Plantation for business. According to “A Quaker take on Irish Business History” by Colm Keena, Irish Times, March 2, 2012 their industries were milling, textiles, shipping, imports and exports, food and tobacco production, brewing, iron production and railways.
3. I don’t think you will find any Quaker Moores in the Ballymoney area today. Ballynacree Meeting House died out due to lack of members. Moores living there today will be of other denominations (mainly Presbyterian or Church of Ireland). There were 2834 people named Moore in Co. Antrim in the 1901 census but only 1 Quaker family. They lived in Belfast and were born in England:
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Antrim/Clifton/Fleetwood_Street/145389/
There were no Moores of any denomination living in Ballynacree itself in 1901. (There are actually 3 townlands named Ballynacree beside each other: Ballynacree Beg, Ballynacree More and Ballynacree Skein).
The postcode that covers the Ballymoney area is BT53. I searched the local phone book and there are 129 Moores listed in BT53. However there will be more than that as many people are not listed these days. So the area is crammed with Moores. But I would urge caution about contacting them blind. Not everyone is interested in their ancestry, but in any event, very few people in Ireland would be able to trace their ancestry back to the 1600s, so unless you have a close lead I doubt that contacting some Moores in Ballymoney will lead to a big breakthrough.
4. Ireland Reaching Out is an all-Ireland organisation and covers Northern Ireland as well as the Republic of Ireland so there is no need to contact someone else. In any event I live in Co. Antrim (not far from Ballynacree), so am probably quite well placed to advise you.
