Ryan is one of the most popular names in Tipperary and is one of those names that is difficult to know which Ryan your talking about, even in a small area of a couple of square kilometres.

The fact his wife is born in Waterford at this time is more unusual but could be just after the famine - the reason they moved perhaps? However, where were they married?

Tipperary men sometimes moved because they had mining skills, western Tipp had small acale copper and silver mines? Glossop is close to the mineral mines or maybe the reason was the mills of the Pennines provided work.

I know this is not particular info but you might need more to go on, narrowing the birth date down might help, could you use later censuses to do that or a death certificate? Also, his wife's info the same. then there is a chance to get a better search. Ryan like Smith in England is difficult without some other anchoring fact?
