Top of the morning to you all - I am seeking any information regarding a John Clay, all I know is he was born in Dublin late 1800's and married Mary Ann Clay. At some point in time he moved to Scotland. He had a son with Mary Ann Mattews by the name of John Samuel Clay.
I would appreciate any help on this. Thankyou.

E:
I checked the civil birth records from 1880-1910 and there were only six John Clay birth records and none in the Dublin area.
I checked for John Clay marriages from 1880-1930. There were only four and none involved a Mary Ann Mattews or Matthews.
Any other info?

Thank you Roger, after a little more searching, John had siblings Mary Kate Clay, William Clay and thomas Kirkby Clay (think he may have been born in Donnybrook, but not sure). A further child was born in England, so it could be that they left Ireland around 1866 onwards as I can't find another child born until 1872.
I appreciate your help.
Regards
Edith
