John Cooper and his first wife had two children John & Esther then married his second wife Anne Perry we believe in Dublin at a unknown church in 1831 and three children Elizabeth, Mary & Peter. There is some thought Elizabeth might belong to the first group of Children. They left Ireland around 1836 and settled in Bradford before coming to New Zealand except for Elizabeth who married a Daniel Brennan and moved to the area of Massachuetts, USA. John the son born around 1824 married Harriett Newsham in 1848 then in the mid 1850's travelled to New Zealand landing in Wellington. John the father with his wife Ann left England in 1856 also landing in Wellington but was killed in a accident in 1857 in Wellington.
The question is his first wife was said to be Mary Butler and John was born around 1807 in County Wicklow and married there but we can not find a record to prove all the Irish part of the story except a copy of the index page in Dublin marriage in 1831 between Ann Perry & John Cooper. Ann Perry is also suppositely got wicklow links but we can not find any.
Any thought and suggestions would be helpful. Thanks, David E Cooper, New Zealand

A transcription on RootsIreland shows that on 2-Jan-1832
in the parish of DONAGHMORE, Co. Wicklow, John CoopermarriedAnne Perry. This disagrees with the 1831 Dublin marriage you mentioned.
I hope this helps!

David/Patricia:
One of our volunteers, Shane Wilson, pointed out that the 1831 marriage record cited by David was actually a marriage license bond and the bond was good for a period of time. The marriage record in Co. Wicklow found by Patricia on January 2 1832 would be the actual marriage record. The parish of Donaghmore in Co. Wicklow was part of the Church of Ireland Diocese of Dublin where the bond was granted.
