I'm searching for information about my great great grandfather, John Gilgan. He was born before 1840. He married Mary Meehan, and they had seven children. They lived in Carrownacreevy and Castle Lodge, in Skreen and Dromard. I haven't been able to locate a death record. Some of their children stayed in the area, and some emigrated. Since these are some very small towns, I'm guessing people knew almost everyone else.
Thanks,
Pat Miller

Pat:
I searched the subscription site Roots Ireland and found the church marriage record. John Gilgan and Mary Meehan were married October 22 1859 at the Skreen/Dromard RC church. Mary was from Gerrib and John was from Carrownacreevy. There were seven baptismal records on Roots Ireland for their children.
Castle Lodge was a local placename and not an official townland. From what I can see, the townland would be Ballinphull in Dromard civil parish.
Possibly this 1901 census record is for your family. Surname was shown as Gilligan

Found two death records. I'm very confident about the Mary record and the John Gilgan record is likely but I'm not sure.
Mary Gilgan died in 1909. See third record https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/deaths_retu…
John Gilgan fourth record 1911 https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/deaths_retu…

Roger, thanks so much! I've been working on unraveling this for the last twelve years. Thanks for verifying the marriage. The 1901 Census Record fits. I'm sure you're right about Mary Gilgan's death record. And John Gilgan's death record looks likely to be accurate. Of the Gilgan's who immigrated to the U. S., all used the name Gilligan after they arrived. It seems as if the spelling changed over time. I really appreciate the help.
Best wishes,
Pat
