I am looking for information about the Hynes Family who ran a Drapery Shop at 29 Main Street,Tulla from 1840 onwards. John Hynes was married to Ellen Clancy in Limerick in 1835 and their first son Patrick was baptised in Newport in 1836 and died in Tulla in 1907. John & Ellen's son James Hynes (my great grandfather) (1853 -1918) was reputed to be the first pupil at St Flannan's. He was lost with his daughter Clare Hynes (1893-1918) on RMS Leinster when it was sunk by UB-123 on 10th October 1918 on route to Holyhead. Clare is reported to have told her friends before she left Tulla, "I am packing my bags for the fishes." Their bodies were never recovered. I have searched the cemetery in Tulla and there are none of my HYNES family buried there. I would be very pleased if anyone could tell me where they were buried. John & Ellen had other children: Elizabeth b.1843 + Thomas b.1845 + Joseph (1847-1924) + Mary (1853-1923). Beir bua, Peter Power-Hynes
